Unlike the original a7C, the a7C II also gained a front control dial and improved autofocus subject-tracking modes, genuine handling and performance refinements beyond just the resolution bump inherited from the a7 IV. It also gained a dedicated exposure compensation dial the original a7C lacked, a small but genuine ergonomic improvement for photographers who prefer physical control over menu-based exposure adjustment. Sony also improved the a7C II's continuous shooting buffer depth and added a dedicated AI-processing chip for subject recognition, both genuine performance upgrades that closed much of the gap to Sony's larger, more expensive a7 IV in everyday shooting responsiveness.
