The wide camera specifically offers a full 24mm-equivalent field of view well suited to landscape and environmental aerial shots, while the separate telephoto camera (covered on its own page) handles the tighter framing the wide lens can't reach without cropping into its resolution. A deliberate two-lens engineering solution rather than a single compromise lens covering both roles. A meaningfully more capable approach than a single compromise lens would allow.

DJI also gave the Air 3 substantially longer flight time per battery than the smaller Mini 4 Pro, a real, direct tradeoff for its larger overall size and weight.
